While Lucas had his mid-morning nap we packed up for a day of hiking. Then once he was changed and fed, we walked from our campground to the Cohab Canyon Trail. This is perhaps our favorite trail so far in Utah.
It starts with a somewhat steep ascent then opens into an amazing canyon. We were so happy we could walk right over to the trailhead from our campsite in less than 5 minutes too.
Lucas enjoyed standing on the rocks during our lunch break.
Overall, it was a sunny, warm beautiful day for a hike with simply stunning scenery. It was just an epic day! In the end we hiked for about 4 hours, and my Fitbit reported over 21,000 steps, 10 miles and 240 flights of stairs!!
We collapsed in our lawn chairs, enjoyed a post-hike Gatorade while Lucas enjoyed relaxing in his outdoor playpen.
After dinner we found enough energy for one more walk, visited the old Fruita school house, and even saw some deer in one of the orchards.
Sorry, I was too tired to think to take my phone along on the evening walk, so you will just have to use your imagination!
