Day 7 Zion National Park

This morning's temperature in Zion National Park is...

Lucas is dressed for the day and reading a favourite book about colours while he waits for mom and dad to pack up for today's adventures.

We did about 3.5 hours of hiking today, and Lucas happily rode on daddy's back for the whole journey! Trails we hiked included: Lower & Upper Emerald Pool Trails and the Kayenta Trail, plus an unnamed one along the Virgin River here in Zion Canyon.

Upper Emerald Pool...really busy because it's Sunday, and a sunny, 26 degrees Celsius day. Officially, no one is allowed to enter the delicate ecosystem of the pools, but who says all tourists are informed and conscientious?

A view of the descent down Kayenta Trail:

Relaxing after our hike, & feeding Lucas.

Rob enjoying a coffee while Lucas enjoys his blankie, after the hike.

We had dinner at the Zion Canyon Brewing Company, and enjoyed sumptuous buffalo meatloaf and delicious beer!

A sunset view of our campsite in the Watchman Campground, inside Zion National Park.

And here is the warm bedtime temperature that resulted in our first night without having to use the heater or furnace!

  1. I see you guys enjoyed beer and meat and I see picture evidence of Lucas eating a cotton blanket. 😉😁
